Class Types

Heated Vinyasa Flow

In this heated(90-98 degrees) class, the breath and movement are synchronized within and between yoga poses. Rhythm and speed of body movement mirrors your flow of breath. This recenters the body’s nervous, muscular, circulatory and energy systems and awakens energy in the entire body. Be prepared for a detoxifying sweat as you build your own internal heat in this dynamic class. There is a balanced focus on building upper body, core, leg and spine strength, as well as flexibility.  In this class you will allow your mind and body to be free from routine while experiencing a wide range of poses and sequences.  Mixed level class - ALL levels welcome from beginners to the more advanced practitioner!

Heated Power Flow

Power flow is a more vigorous, fitness-based approach to Vinyasa style yoga and students are encouraged to challenge themselves. There is no specific sequence to the class, but Sun Salutations are almost always included. The class focuses on building strength & stamina while improving balance & flexibility through a wide range of poses and sequences. The room is heated to 90-98 degrees.

Nutrition Workshops

Yoga brings consciousness and self-illumination to all areas of our lives. As our practice deepens, we become aware of the integral connection with our practice and how we feed ourselves. Our nutrition is a powerful tool that has an ability to transform our overall health and elevate our sense of well being.

Our program is based on the premise of holistic nutrition, recognizing that everybody is different with their own unique “biochemical individuality.”  Our dietary approach is eclectic, but is based on the foundation principle of whole foods, herbs, and lifestyle that enhances wellness. The wisdoms utilizing the different seasons, traditional Chinese medicine, ancient Auyervedic methods, and sustainable eating will also be incorporated upon assessing the participant’s nutrition history, environment, and their unique dietary needs.

Whether it is weight management, increasing energy, or addressing allergy issues in a seasonal detox, our program is designed to bring “recovery” to our bodies. After the completion of the program, our participants will have practical and tangible tools that can be used and applied in their day-to-day lives in order to maintain vitality. Just like our yoga practice transforms over time, our nutritional needs also require reassessment. Our participants can expect a dynamic shift in their sense of well being to uncover, recover, and discover their vibrant health!

Kids Yoga

In the Kinetic Yoga Kids class, children are encouraged to explore and discover the mind and body in a fun-filled way! Kinetic Yoga Kids is a fun, creative approach to yoga that can be very helpful for children whose bodies are still developing. The use of animated poses and basic stretching exercises promote strength, flexibility, coordination and body awareness. Breathing and visualization techniques teach kids how to focus, relax and develop self-control. Kids will improve concentration and focus, stimulate their imagination and help to release energy in a fun, safe environment. Using interactive games and animated postures, kids learn about animals, nature, language and basic anatomy through yoga. The Kinetic Kids Yoga program also promotes inner-strength, confidence and self-esteem; a feeling of well-being and respect for others; and, love for one's self, inside and out.

Kids Martial Arts

Basic fundamentals of footwork, boixng, kickboxing, and grappling. Main objective is to foster a strong sense of body awareness and self esteem. No sparring. Some body contact for technique application.

Private & Semi-private Instruction

Three reasons why you should seriously consider a private session:

Build a Solid Foundation

Every person’s body is unique.  Private sessions are an invaluable way to learn how you should approach each pose best suited for your body.  What may take months in a class environment can be accomplished in just hours in a one on one setting.  We carefully craft each session to your specific needs.  Your session includes an assessment of joint range-of-motion, strength, flexibility, breath and how these relate to yoga poses.  You will dramatically improve your alignment and awareness, bringing greater strength, flexibility and well-being to what will now be an educated yoga practice from which you will reap so many incredible benefits.

Break Through to the Next Level

Students of all levels reach plateaus where one on one instruction can make a life/practice altering breakthrough.  Book a private session with us and we’ll get you “over the hump” and into the next level.  Each session is custom tailored to fit your needs. Re-energize your practice by experiencing the benefits of having your very own teacher and become amazed and excited at how much more there is to learn.

Healing an injury

Centuries before Western medicine started turning to physical therapy, doctors in India used yoga to heal the human body from an astonishing number of ailments.  However, yoga can be a double-edged sword for any injury:  while one pose may be great for your back, the next one may be the worst thing you could do.  Due to the fact that the human body is so complex, the variance is not just from pose to pose, but also from person to person – the pose that may heal one person’s back pain may actually make yours worse.  In these sessions, we start by carefully examining the problem.  We can then either offer a sequence of poses - based on the time you have in your life - to do on your own, or under our supervision, or we can teach you how to modify the poses when you take our group classes which is a more affordable option than ongoing private instruction and usually more effective than practicing on your own.  If ever there is a good reason to seek one on one attention – this is it!  Take care of yourself and learn how to modify the postures to fit your body!

Cost:

-$75 for 60 minute private session
-$75 + $30 each additional person for 60 minute semi-private session (max 3 people)

Teacher Training

The Yoga @ Cindy’s Teacher Training program is a 200-hour Certification program carefully designed for serious students of yoga who want to deepen their practice as well as for those students who wish to become teachers themselves.  As a student in our training program, you will meet three days a week for a 3 month period.  Each week you will go deep into the practice of yoga, enhancing your knowledge and honing your practice in a wide range of topics – from alignment and anatomy to philosophy and breathing techniques.

No formal experience is required to enroll in the Yoga @ Cindy’s teacher training program.  However, we do recommend that you have had at least 6 months of a regular practice (3x week), or equivalent, prior to the start of the course.  Participating in this training will be a profound experience, taking you to places in your body and mind that you never thought possible.  We will be doing lots and lots of yoga, and you will be required to practice for at least 3 hours per week in addition to regularly attending all scheduled classes.  Making this kind of commitment to yoga is not something you should undertake lightly.  Please make sure you have done enough yoga to know it is something with which you truly want to spend time.

A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training.  In fact, WE ENCOURAGE people with all body types and those with physical challenges to consider this program.  Yoga is at heart a practice of meeting the body where it is at, and then working within yourself to slowly and respectfully move deeper.  The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of this training will only make you a better teacher.  If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head to become a teacher or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.
